First of all, some of you might be thinking…hold on, what is work experience!? What does it exactly mean?
Work experience refers to some form of temporary work placement within a company where you will work on junior-level tasks for the purpose of gaining experience and insight into the industry. The work can vary hugely but if you prepare well and are proactive, you may be able to gain a fantastic insight into an industry or role and a set of valuable contacts for the future.
Why is work experience important?
It’s proven that young people are more likely to be successful in their job hunt if they have done some good job experience, this will not only help you answer questions and give meaningful examples when being interviews, but also show your interest in the industry.
It’ll help you identify your own skills and perhaps even highlight the areas that you might want to work on. This will also come in handy when applying for jobs as it will definitely give you a good understanding of your strengths and weakness.
Work experience gently introduces you to the world of work. You will learn the do’s and don’ts in an office and you will also get used to work routines.
How can I get a work placement?
At Uk Intern Development we work closely with the European Erasmus + programme in order to provide you with the opportunity of a work placement at a very low price. We will provide you with all the information needed to apply for this programme and even help your institution write the project you will be part of.
